Aimée Després

It’s not every day you come across a dancer as versatile as Aimée Després. Born in a small town in Nova Scotia, Canada, Aimée started traditional ‘Acadian step dancing’ at the age of 4. This early introduction to dance would ignite a life long passion for the arts.

In her teens, Aimée moved to Vancouver, BC to pursue a career in dance where she trained in classical and neoclassical ballet at the Goh Ballet Academy. She later joined the Source Dance Company where she gained extensive training while rehearsing in contemporary, modern, tap, jazz, lyrical, hip hop, house. These art forms, including her acadian gigue talents, led her to many opportunities travelling and performing throughout North America, Europe, Asia and the Middle East.

In addition to her extensive performing experience, Aimée has choreographed several works and trained numerous dancers in the process. She has ample experience teaching dance to adults, teens, and kids, (as well as teaching children with disabilities.) Not only is she passionate about dancing, she is also trained in singing, theatre improv and tv/film acting. Aimée enjoys creating and performing works that feel good to all involved. She enjoys sharing her passions with everyone who crosses her path.”
